Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag believes Alejandro Garnacho has the potential to become a world-class player.

Garnacho enjoyed a breakthrough season last term, making 50 appearances in all competitions for United, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists as they won the FA Cup.

Ten Hag was full of praise for the 20-year-old winger, who won the Copa America with Argentina over the summer, before starting the new season Promotion Ufabet with the Red Devils by scoring against Manchester City in the Community Shield and assisting the winner in the 1-0 win over Fulham in their Premier League opener.

“A world-class player? He has a long way to go to prove himself. He has great potential and showed last season that he can help the team and be a regular.”

“To become a world-class player, you have to start with hard work. That’s what got him to where he is now and will lead him to become a world-class player. I agree he has the potential.”

“If you want to be a world-class player, you have to be consistent and he has that ability,” Ten Hag said.

“Garnacho definitely has it in him to become that player. If you want to be that player – world class – then you have to do it consistently and he has a high potential, 100%.”

The winger is, along with Rasmus Hojlund and Kobbie Mainoo, part of a clutch of younger talent at United that Ten Hag is excited about.
