Daniel Maldini made history by making his debut for the Italian national team as the third generation of the Maldini family to represent the national team.

The Monza forward, who turned 23 on October 11, has followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and father in playing for the Italian national team, becoming the third generation of his family to represent their country.
Cesare Maldini was the first generation of the family to play for the Italian national team between 1960 and 1963 and also managed the team as head coach from 1996 to 1998.
Meanwhile, the second generation, Paolo Maldini, is also a legend in Italian football, having played 126 times for his country between 1988 and 2002.
